Kent Reimer: VP / Production

Kent has been involved in the animation industry since 1998. He began his career at Stratford Internet Technologies as part of a team of artists using character animation to enhance a variety of web based advertising and marketing projects. At Stratford, Kent was given the opportunity to learn Macromedia Flash when the software was still in its infancy as an animation tool.

After Stratford Kent was hired by Pork and Beans Productions Inc. There he worked on numerous projects such as REM's music video "I'll take the rain", commercials for LG and Pharmasave, "My Scene Barbie", and one of the first Vancouver based flash to broadcast TV series, "Yakkity Yak". As an integral member of the Yakkity Yak crew, Kent helped establish and maintain an efficient flash production pipeline. This production model is still in use by many local studios today. As a key member of the Pork and Beans team, Kent worked as a supervising animator, designer, and storyboard artist, with clients that include Nickelodeon, Disney, Warner Brothers, YTV and Teletoon.

In 2005, Kent accepted a position as Supervising Animator with Atomic Cartoons, working on the Nelvana TV series Jacob Two-Two. After only six months with the studio, he was promoted to the position of Overseas Animation Director and sent to Paris, France to work on Atomic's hit show Atomic Betty. In Paris, Kent oversaw every aspect of production from the hiring of employees, training new artists, managing workflow, and directing. While Overseas, Kent successfully delivered every episode of the series on time, and on budget.

Upon his return from Paris Kent has added to his skillset by learning 3d animation, and can currently be found directing and supervising. He contributes his success to three things: hard work, determination, and copious amounts of strong black coffee.
